Hawaii Elopement

June 16, 2014 | Jill + James | Hawaii Elopement | Papailoa Beach

The stars aligned perfectly for Jill and James of the Lone Star State.  They initially inquired about doing their engagement portraits in Hawaii but called again to say they would instead be getting married.  They chose Papailoa Beach on the North Shore of Oahu as the location for their Hawaii elopement.  On their special day, Jill and James were accompanied by a couple who were their good friends.  Before the ceremony, James connected with his brother via video chat on his phone so their relatives back home in Texas could watch the ceremony live.  Without a tripod for the phone, we improvised with a makeshift stand.  The ceremony began with video, musician and officiant in place, and ended with a beautiful sunset.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for these two.  They had a dream wedding in Hawaii and took home with them memories they will cherish forever.

Thank you so much, Jill and James, for the privilege of photographing your special day!

June 6, 2014 | Trisha + Scott | Hawaii Wedding | Hale Koa Hotel

From the day of our first meeting to the day of their Hawaii wedding at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki, it was all smiles, laughter and joy with Trisha and Scott.  The perfect weather on their special day made for a beautiful ceremony at the Maile Garden.  The couple shared a fun-filled reception with their family and friends in the Waikiki Ballroom, ending the night with the father/bride and mother/groom dances.  Thank you, Trisha and Scott, for sharing your special day with us!

Hawaii Engagement | Hawaii Mess the Dress | Pele’s Chair

Jenna and Joe, the smart dentists from California, came to Hawaii for their engagement session and mess the dress session.  We took some fun pictures as we hiked to our location, ending the shoot in the water at Pele’s Chair.  They were a bit shy whenever I asked them to kiss for the camera; and their fun, awkward personalities were a joy to photograph.  Thank you for the fun memories, guys!

May 24, 2014 | Deanna + Stephen | Hawaii Wedding | St. George Church

The ceremony took place at St. George Church in the small town of Waimanalo, located on the East side of Oahu, Hawaii.  St. George is a small, charming church with a warm and historic feel.  The location holds a lot of meaning for Deanna and Stephen because both their families are Catholic, and St. George is where Stephen attended church with his family every Sunday when he was growing up.

Their wedding day began with the bridal prep at Waimanalo Blue, a beach house situated on the Waimanalo oceanfront.  Before heading to the ceremony, Deanna and Stephen wanted to do something similar to a First Look but didn’t want to see each other until the ceremony, so they instead did a First Touch.  The day ended with a lot of joy and laughter at Sea Life Park where the reception was held for about 100 of the couple’s closest family and friends.

Thank you, Deanna and Stephen, for sharing your awesome Hawaii wedding day with us!
