This Bed and Breakfast is located just a 1/4 mile from the famous Makaha Beach on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It was my first time working at this venue and when I arrived, the home sits right on the beach and I could just imagine how beautiful the sunsets can be here.
Newlyweds, David and Cherry, are from China and both had just their parents attend the wedding along with a friend of Cherry to help translate the English language to her parents.
The ceremony was nice and simple which John Fuchigami was their minister. At times he had to pause during the ceremony so that Cherry's friend could translate in Chinese to her parents. After they both exchanged rings, David (their Hawaiian slack-key guitarist), serenaded the couple with a song. Next, it was the couples first kiss moment and John did the traditional Hawaiian blowing of the conch shell while David and Cherry kissed. We then walked to a beach nearby and ended with some photos there.
It was an honor meeting both families. Thank you David and Cherry for sharing your Hawaiian wedding with me.
